CRS History in Bangladesh
CRS has been providing humanitarian assistance to Bangladesh since its independence in 1971. CRS began by assisting refugees and then gradually moved to education and emergency response activities because of the magnitude and intensity of the problems in the country.
The agency focuses on social targeting (reaching out to the most vulnerable people) and geographical targeting (reaching out to the most deserving areas).
CRS' program in Bangladesh is managed from the South Asia Regional Office located in New Delhi, India.
