CRS Work in Albania
The overarching goal of our work is to promote human development by working with partners whose activities enable communities to transform poverty and vulnerability into opportunity and prosperity.

Education
CRS Albania's Education Program encourages civic participation in education by strengthening community involvement through the Parent School Partnership program. The Education program also promotes human development through the Global Food for Education Initiative and summer camps.
Food Distribution
Commodities donated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture provide more than 23,000 of Albania's poorest families with supplementary food through the Food for Progress program. U.S. Department of Agriculture commodities are also distributed to 1,000 persons in institutions serving orphans, the handicapped and the aged. Through the Global Food for Education Initiative project, CRS also provides food to 33 kindergartens.
Peace and Justice
CRS provides support to the Archdiocese of Shkodër's Peace and Justice Commission and Peace and Justice Center. CRS has also recently begun supporting a Justice Commission in Tirana. The Peace and Justice program ensures that all CRS supported activities, like the Parent School Partnership program, have strong peace and justice components and plans to expand after-school youth programs.
